Chemistry

The Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry is a dynamic centre for research at the frontiers of Chemical Science. The emphasis at the curricular level is to give a broad coverage of most common branches of Chemistry in keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of the subject today.

The Department was established in 1936 and the Post-Graduation course was started in 1971.

The Department admits students to a three-year degree programme in B.Sc. and a two-year programme in M.Sc. Chemistry which is the most happening field with incalculable demand for the masters of the subject in Research, Teaching, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry.
