DAV College, Jalandhar, bid an emotional farewell to Dr. Shiv Kumar Tuli, Senior Vice-Principal and Head of PG Department of Mathematics, on his retirement after 39 years of dedicated service. Organized by the college staff council on April 1, 2025, the ceremony began with a welcome by Staff Secretary Dr. Dinesh Arora and floral greetings to Dr. & Mrs. Tuli.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Vice Principal Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Registrar Prof. Sonika Dania, Dr. Punit Puri, and Dr. Naveen Sood presented Dr. Tuli with a farewell address, memento, and gifts. Dr. P.K. Sharma read the farewell address, and a heartfelt poem by daughter-in-law Er. Mahak Maini Tuli added emotional depth to the event.
Family, friends, alumni, and faculty, including notable names like Dr. Sameer Sharma, Dr. Satish Sharma, and Prof. R.C. Mahendru, attended the occasion. Dr. Tuli received an award of honour from PCCTU Area Secretary Prof. S.S. Randhawa, a token of appreciation from NCC CTO Sunil Thakur, and warm wishes from colleagues and guests.
His contributions spanned several rolesโDean IQAC, Registrar, Secretary Staff Council, Vice-Principal, and NCC in-charge for 32 years. A touching video, Life Journey of Dr. S.K. Tuli Through the Lens Eye by Prof. Ranjita Guglani, was appreciated by all. A soulful sufi song by the EMA Department added a cultural touch.
In his farewell address, Dr. Tuli expressed gratitude, calling DAV College his โsecond home.โ The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Punit Puri and a lunch gathering.
Dr. Tuli leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, inspiring generations through his passion for education and service to the institution.
