The Department of Physical Education and Sports, DAV College Jalandhar, observed ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฉ๐ก๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ 2024 with a National Seminar on โ€œSports Ethicsโ€ on 28th March 2025. The seminar brought together esteemed scholars, experts, and students from across reputed institutions to reflect on the ethical dimensions of sports.
Principal (Officiating) Dr. S.K. Tuli, Convenor Dr. Manu Sood, and faculty members extended a warm floral welcome to the distinguished guests. The event began with the melodious โ€œDAV Gaanโ€, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Tuli, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized that โ€œSports ethics is not just about winning or losing, but about the values that guide our actions both on and off the field.โ€
Dr. Manu Sood highlighted the departmentโ€™s achievements and formally welcomed the speakers. The seminar featured impactful sessions by Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh, Former Director Sports, GNDU Amritsar, and Mr. Rohit Parashar, Former Chief Football Coach, SAI, NS NIS Patiala. Their thought-provoking insights sparked engaging discussions on the importance of fairness, integrity, and sportsmanship.
The event was smoothly anchored by Dr. S.J. Talwar, with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Saurabh Raj. Organisers Prof. Saurabh Raj and Prof. Ajay Thakur played a key role in the seminarโ€™s success. The presence of faculty members Prof. S.S. Randhawa, Dr. Deepak Wadhawan, Prof. Amit, Dr. Komal Soni, Prof. Geetika, and Dr. Hina added grace to the occasion. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.
