On 13th March 2025, students and faculty of the Department of Biotechnology, DAV College Jalandhar undertook an insightful educational visit to IIT Ropar, under the DBT Star College Scheme (GOI).
The visit provided students with a hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories, enhancing their understanding of modern biotechnological research. They explored advanced labs including Biomedical Sciences and Chemical Engineering, where faculty members demonstrated the use of cutting-edge instruments like spectrophotometers, centrifuges, NMR, XRD, Mass Spectrophotometer, Distillation Unit, and Gas Chromatography.
Students interacted with Ph.D. scholars, observed ongoing research activities, and gained exposure to the latest advancements in the field. The detailed demonstrations and real-time insights offered a rare opportunity to understand the practical applications of biotechnology beyond the classroom.
The visit was made possible with the constant support and blessings of Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal, who encourages such initiatives to promote research-based learning. The students were accompanied and guided by Dr. Sanjay Sharma (DBT Coordinator) and Prof. Sakshi, who ensured a fruitful learning experience throughout.
