Department of Chemistry Organizes DBT-Sponsored Interactive Session on “Beyond the Syllabus”
The Department of Chemistry organized a DBT-sponsored interactive session titled “Beyond the Syllabus: Building Skills for Competitive Exam Excellence” on March 13, 2025. The objective of the event was to enhance students’ exam preparation skills. Mr. Ajay Kumar, a Lecturer in Chemistry at Pt. J.R. Govt. Polytechnic College Hoshiarpur served as the resource person. Prof. Sheetal Aggarwal, the Head of the department, introduced him and highlighted his expertise. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of skill-building beyond academics. During the session, Mr. Ajay Kumar delivered a highly engaging and thought-provoking presentation on several aspects of crucial academic success. He discussed effective exam strategies to help students approach their tests confidently, emphasized the importance of time management to balance their study schedules, and introduced essential study techniques to enhance their learning experience. To make his presentation more relatable and practical, Mr. Kumar provided the students with a variety of real-life techniques that they can integrate into their daily routines. He encouraged them to reflect on their study habits and share their experiences, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. In addition, he challenged their minds with intriguing brain teasers that served as a fun break and stimulated critical thinking, making the session both educational and entertaining. Prof. Tnu Mahajan, the DBT Coordinator of the chemistry department, delivered a formal vote of thanks and acknowledged the organizing team’s efforts, including Dr. Savneet, the incharge of SSBCS, Dr. Pooja, and Dr. Shilpa. The session received an overwhelming response, reinforcing DAV College Jalandhar’s commitment to academic excellence through impactful initiatives.
