A hawan yajna was conducted on February 24, 2025 by the Department of Computer Science, DAV College Jalandhar, under the aegis of the IT Forum to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The ceremony also aimed to seek divine blessings for the well being and success of Students of computer science department and +2 students, who were set to appear for their first board exam the very next day.
Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, shed light on the life and contributions of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The Principal emphasized Swami Ji’s vision of education, social reform, and spiritual awakening. He also urged everyone to imbibe and follow the principles and teachings of the revered Swami Ji. The event was efficiently managed by Dr Ritu Talwar, Head of the Sanskrit Department, and IT Forum President Sh. Gagan Madaan. During the ceremony, Pandit Shri Budhdev Shastri Ji shared his wisdom, stressing the importance of a pure and balanced diet, as it nurtures pure thoughts, leading to good deeds and a strong character. His words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the significance of self-discipline and moral integrity. Pandit Ji concluded the hawan yajna with the Vedic customs.
The occasion was graced by Senior Vice Principal Dr S.K. Tulli, Vice Principal Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Registrar Prof Sonika Dania, Dr. Seema Sharma (Incharge of the Collegiate School),Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan, Dr. Naveen Sood, Dr. SK Khurana. Monika Bahl, Prof. Sahil Nagpal, Prof. Vivek Sharma, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Richa Nagla, Dr. Komal Narang, along with a distinguished gathering of faculty members, non-teaching staff and students from Computer Science Department and other departments. The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by HoD Computer Science Dr Nischay Bahl. He appreciated the collective efforts of all who contributed to making the event a grand success.
