On April 14, 2023, 132th Birth Anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji was celebrated by NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of DAV College Jalandhar.
On May 05, 2023 under the “Mission Life Program” the tree plantation campaign was started at DAV College Jalandhar by Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar by planting saplings.
On May 31, 2023 NSS unit and Red Ribbon Club celebrated “No Tobacco Day” at DAV College Jalandhar. A poster making competition was conducted and prizes were awarded to the winning volunteers.
“World Environment Day” was celebrated by NSS and Red Ribbon Club on June 06, 2023. College Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar was the chief guest on this occasion. He shared his views on environment. Volunteers made this day memorable by planting a large number of saplings.
On June 13, 2023 ‘World Blood Donor Day’ was celebrated with the joint efforts of NSS, Red Ribbon Club and NCC of DAV College Jalandhar. On this occasion, a large-scale blood donation camp was organized in which the Civil Hospital team reached with its medical arrangements. Meanwhile, volunteers, cadets, college teachers and employees donated blood.
On June 20, 2023, as per the orders of DC Office Jalandhar, around 100 volunteers of NSS Unit took active part in “CM Di Yogshala” at PAP Ground Jalandhar. During this Yogashala, CM Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Maan addressed the volunteers and program officers present.
On June 21, 2023 “International Yoga Day” was celebrated by NSS Unit at DAV College Jalandhar. On this occasion, Program Officer Dr. Gurjit Kaur, made the volunteers perform different yoga postures. College Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar addressed the volunteerswith references from Indian cultureabout the importance of yoga in human life.
“Van Mahotsava” was celebrated by NSS Unit of DAV College Jalandhar from 1st July 2023 to 7th July 2023. Volunteers planted saplings in the college campus and in their own homes and conducted environmental awareness campaigns.
From 09th August 2023 to 15th August 2023, NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club conducted various activities under “Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign”. Plantation drive, special speeches, medicinal plants, one day special camp, cleanliness campaign, awareness rally and 15th August (Independence Day) etc. were celebrated on a large scale:
(a) A one day special camp was organized at the college on August 13, 2023 in which around 80 volunteers cleaned the back side of the college canteen with full diligence.
(b) On August 15, 2023Independence Day, was celebrated in the college on a grand scale, in which a large number of volunteers and cadets participated and March Passed. College principal Dr.Rajesh Kumar joined as the chief guest and hoisted the tricolor. Volunteers also gave their presentations by singing patriotic songs.
On August 21, 2023 NSS Unit, DAV College Jalandhar conducted an Orientation Program in which important information about NSS and its motive, aims, events was provided to the volunteers newly associated with NSS. On this occasion, the college principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar shared his experiences with the volunteers.
“International Literacy Day” was celebrated by NSS Unit, DAV College Jalandhar on September 08, 2023. On this occasion, a large number of volunteers participated and Dr. Ashok Kumar Khurana was the speaker of the day who shared his views and ideas with volunteers.
On September 20, 2023, “International Peace Day” was celebrated by NSS unit in which volunteers and program officers did activities representing the community
On September 17, 2023 NSS volunteers participated in “India Swachhata League 2.0” under “Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan”. NSS Volunteer ‘Tushar Chadha’ bagged second place in the “Swachhata Dialogue-Bashana Competition” held at Sodal Mandir Jalandhar.
On September 19, 2023 NSS Unit, DAV College Jalandhar organized “Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan” Cleanliness Drive in College Campus. NSS Volunteers participated in discussion about Swachhta Hi SevaAbhiyaan and recited Poems, Songs related to Swachhta. This campaign was largely celebrated through poster making competitions.
On 25-09-2023, “Blood Donation Camp” was organized by NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club at the college in which, Madam Dr. Gurpinder Kaur (BTO) from Civil Hospital and Mr. Jaspal Singh,Assistant Director Youth Services Jalandhar joined as special guests. Meanwhile, apart from volunteers, college teachers participated and contributed greatly to the welfare of humanity by donating 36 units of blood.
From 15-09-2023 to 02-10-2023, various programs were organized during the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa-SwachhtaAbhiyan’:
NSS Day was celebrated on 24-09-2023 by NSS Unit, DAV College Jalandhar. An oath was taken to keep the surroundings clean under the ‘Swachhta Pakhwara Abhiyan’ and on this occasion the volunteers shared their thoughts about cleanliness through their speech.
On 28-09-2023, NSS unit celebrated the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji in the college. On this occasion, the volunteers through speeches and patriotic songs remembered Bhagat Singh Ji.
On 01-10-2023 Under Swachhta Pakhwara Abhiyan conducted cleaning campaign in college parks and watered plants.
On 02-10-2023, “SwachhataDiwas” was celebrated. Various activities were conducted and a special one-day camp was organized. Apart from cleaning the entrance of the college, the volunteers also cleaned the area around Gate no.2 of the college.On this occasion Poster making, debate, song and speech competitions were also organized for remembering Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.NSS Volunteers and program officers also paid warm tributes to them.
03-10-2023 Communal Harmony Day was celebrated at the college by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club.
On 30-10-2023 under the leadership of Dr. Sahib Singh, NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club, outside DAV College Gate no. 1, volunteersplayed a NukarNatak against drugs and AIDS. During this, Inspector Sukhveer Singh, Incharge Central, Varinder Ji and Inspector Kailash Kaur other taff members from Sanjh Kendra, Police Department Jalandhar were especially present.
On 31-10-2023, Sardar VallabhBhai Patel’s birthday,‘National Unity Day’ was celebrated. Meanwhile, NSS volunteers, Red Ribbon Club members and NCC cadets took oath for the unity and integrity of the country and also ran for national unity.
From 06-11-2023 to 12-11-2023, Green Diwali Campaign (Swatchh Diwali Shubh Diwali) was conducted at the college by NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club.
National Integration Day was celebrated on 20-11-2023 by joint efforts of NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club and Youth Services Department. Volunteers were encouraged to be aware and responsible about their moral duties towards the country by celebrationg “National Unity Day”.
On 21-11-23 NSS Coordinator Dr. Sahib Singh participated in a meeting related to Dasha Mukt Abhiyan in the conference hall at Police Line Jalandhar in which the programs organized by the Punjab Government against drugs were discussed.
On 26-11-2023, Constitution Day was celebrated at the college by the NSS unit. In this, the program officers and volunteers had a informatvive discussion about the Indian Constitution.
On 01-12-2023, “World Aids Day” was celebrated by NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club in which a large number of program officers, college teachers and volunteers participatedalong with the college principal.
On 10-12-2023, “World Human Rights Day” was celebrated by the NSS unit at the college. The volunteers who participated in this event shared their views about human rights.
From 23-12-2023 to 29-12-2023 NSS Unit organized a ‘Seven Days Special Camp’ at village Nandanpur. Around 100 volunteers participated in the camp. During this camp, apart from the cleanliness campaign, intellectual sessions, cultural sessions, sports activities and awareness rallies were also conducted. The closing ceremony of the camp was attended by famous comedy artist brother duo Shugli-Jugli (Gurpreet Singh and Prabhpreet Singh) as chief guests.
National Youth Day was celebrated on 12-01-2024. The volunteers attended the live speech of the Prime Minister of India and also took an oath to fulfill their duties towards the country honestly.
International Voter’s Day was celebrated by NSS unit on 25-01-2024. Prof.Kuldeep Khullar (Sweep Incharge) shared his thoughts with the volunteers. NSS Coordinator Dr. Sahib Singh also shared his views on the use of vote with social references.
Republic Day was celebrated by NSS unit and NCC unit on 26-01-2024. On this occasion Dr. Dinesh Arora, Department of Political Science gave an enlightening speech on Indian Constitution. On this occasion, a copy of the Indian Constitution was also kept in front of everyone during the program. College Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar performed the tricolor hoisting ceremony and shared his thoughts on this special day. Volunteers and cadets passed the march and presented patriotic songs.
On 30-01-2024 Martyr’s Day was celebrated by NSS unit at the college. On this occasion under the leadershipof Dr. Sahib Singh, the volunteers raised the tricolor in their hands and chanted slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and paid tribute to their martyrs.
On 08-02-2024 with the support of NSS Unit and Institution Innovation Council, International Speaker Mr. Rajiv Khurana gave a special speech on “Health Impacts of Air Pollution Mitigation and Empowering Youth Leadership to Combat Air Pollution”. A large number of volunteers participated in it.
On 07-03-2024 International Women’s Day was jointly celebrated by NSS Unit and Women Empowerment and Grievance Redressal Cell. To deliver a speech, Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kapoor Mehra, fromDr. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat joined as Chief Guest. She gave a very enlightening speech in the context of women.
Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji was celebrated at the college on 22-03-2024. A large number of volunteers participated and Presented flowers of devotion to Sardar Bhagat Singh.
