“NET SAVVY” contest

PG Department of Computer Science, under the umbrella of IT FORUM, organized a thrilling “NET SAVVY” contest on 22.02.2024 in the Computer Science Department, dedicated to showcasing the brilliance and innovation of tech enthusiasts in the ever-evolving landscape of net-savvy technologies. The competition serves as a catalyst for fostering talent and promoting advancements in the tech industry. The event witnessed an encouraging turnout, with many students actively showcasing their talent. The topic of the event was to explore the Internet on the Dark Web.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, Jalandhar commended the efforts of the students and encouraged them to participate in such activities which not only instill confidence in them but also help in gaining valuable insights. He further exhorted the students to make the best use of the multiple platforms provided to students at DAV to hone their skills and to acquire a cutting edge in their respective fields which go a long way in fostering their careers and building a bright and successful future for them.
Dr. Nischay Bahl, Head, Computer Science, encouraged peer learning and creativity. He also discussed the importance of being internet savvy in today’s digital era. “We are delighted to witness the outstanding talent and creativity displayed at the competition. The participants have demonstrated a deep understanding of net-savvy technologies, pushing the boundaries of innovation,” said Dr. Bahl. Prof. Namarta Kapoor and Prof. Gagan Madaan, President, IT FORUM, encouraged students that these events will provide a platform for collaboration, exploration of new ideas, and net surfing opportunities that can benefit all participants.
Prof. Ritika Sobti, Event Incharge, advised students that individuals can improve their digital skills, stay ahead of the curve, and build a strong foundation for future success in the digital realm by using the internet smartly. Prof. Tanu Dhawan, Event Co-Incharge, enlightened the participants that being net savvy means understanding how to protect your personal information online, recognizing and avoiding online scams, critically evaluating online information, and using the internet as a tool for learning and productivity. Prof. Rajeev Puri, Prof. Vishal Sharma and other staff members graced the occasion. Overall, the testimonials from participants reflected the success and effectiveness of the event in engaging and educating attendees on the latest trends and developments in the internet world.
