Institutions innovation Council in DAV College is established under the directions of Ministry of Education, Government of India and under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. The primary focus of IIC is to foster innovation culture amongst the young and budding entrepreneurs. The Institution’s Innovation council conducts various seminars and workshops to groom the skills of the students and make them competent enough so that by the time they complete their degrees there ready to launch the start-ups. In this series, an interactive session on entrepreneurial skill development was organised on 6th of February 2024. Master Meedhansh Gupta, (Age: 14 year), students of 8th standard was invited as the guest speaker of the day. At such a small age, he is the CEO of a software company. Meedhansh is a brilliant, hardworking student and world record holder. He has been awarded with Prime Minister Bal Puraskar, and has been invited to IIT Madras and many other prestigious institutions for sharing his entrepreneurial journey.
The session started with DAV Gaan, after which a brief introduction about the guest was given to the students by Ms. Shaina from Computer Science Department. Dr. Rajeev Puri, convener IIC welcomed the guest. In his welcome address, Dr. Puri told the students that if they have the curiosity in them and they have the intent to learn something then age is no bar. The consistent and sincere efforts is all one needs to succeed in life.
Meedhansh started the session with a flashback of his entrepreneurial journey, how he developed interest in programming and very soon at the age of eight years he was able to develop a website on his own. After acquiring the programming skills, he was able to develop professional websites for government as well as private agencies.
Meedhansh told that if you have a determination in you then nobody can stop you attaining your goals. He said that most of the successful entrepreneurs started their journey with social work and finding the problematic areas in the society which need a solution to be developed. Meedhansh emphasised on learning programming and told that all of us in one or the other way of doing some programming in our day-to-day life. He elaborated the difference between a businessman and an entrepreneur.
Towards the end of the session, Meedhansh answered the queries asked by the various faculty members as well as the students. Dr. Rajeev Puri in the end presented the formal vote of thanks. Dr. Dinesh Arora Vice president IIC, Dr. Kunwer Rajeev Head dept of Physics, Dr. Naveen Sood IPR Coordinator, Dr. Manav Aggarwal Internship coordinator, Prof. Vishal Sharma AARIA coordinator, Dr. Vinod Kumar Social Media coordinator and many other faculty members were present on the occasion.
