The NSS Unit of DAV College, Jalandhar, successfully concluded the sixth day of its Seven-Day Special Camp under the supervision of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. The day commenced with volunteers reciting prayers followed by group leaders presenting brief summary reports of the previous day’s activities. Then new leaders were selected for day six. Coordinator Dr. Sahib Singh briefed the volunteers on their duties. He commended them for their hard work despite the bone-chilling weather and delivered a motivational speech to boost their morale.
Subsequently, volunteers proceeded to Govt School Nandanpur where they organised a rally and raised slogans against various social evils such as drug addiction, pollution and stubble burning. They diligently cleaned up lawns and surrounding areas filled with weeds and shrubs. After the strenuous work at Nandanpur, volunteers returned to DAV College Jalandhar where they cleaned up a lawn and beautified it. In the afternoon, they enjoyed lunch together.
In the following segment, an intellectual session featured well-known artist Vikas Mongia who entertained the volunteers with his wit. Mr. Mongia motivated the volunteers with his valuable life experiences. He offered profound insights about careers and various challenges in the entertainment industry. Dr. Gurjeet Kaur conducted this session. Prof. Gurjit Singh formally thanked the guest for his valuable lecture. Coordinator Dr. Sahib Singh expressed special gratitude to the guest speaker.
In the subsequent segment, cultural activities were hosted by Prof. Sahil. The volunteers actively participated in them, showcasing their talents. The sixth day concluded with a prayer. On this occasion, Programme Officers Prof. Vivek Sharma, Prof. Gagan Madan and Prof. Rahul were also present.
