” DAV Cricket League season 1 starts with flying colors”
“Today there will be a close fight for the semi-finals”.
The DAV Cricket League season 1 of DAV College jalandhar was initiated with flying colours. The inaugural match was played between Royals and Rockers at 7 am in the DAV ground, where Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar was the chief guest who was welcomed warmly by Dean Student welfare Prof Manish Khanna, HOD physical education sports Dr Manu Sood, Dean Academics prof Punit Puri, prof Saurabh Raj, Prof Ajay Kumar and student council of the college.
Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar shared his feelings and said games are an inevitable part of our life, we should involve into them with great zeal and enthusiasm keeping the spirit of sportsmanship alive. Winning or losing is definitely a part of the game, and games give us the message of brotherhood, commitment and dedication.” He further motivating the players and said that Today is the era of great stress and competition, where games and sports play the pivotal role in maintaining the physical and mental health and provide golden opportunities to the students for further growth as a sport’s person. But the only thing required is 100% dedication in such events whenever it occupies your life, and everyone should be a part of some kind of game or sport.
The initial match was played between Royals and Rockers where Royals performed excellently. By Playing first, the Rockers gave a target of 85 runs to the Royals in the stipulated 12 hours, which the Royals made by losing 4 wickets.
2nd match was played between Bravos and Rangers where Bravos scored 107 runs in 12 overs losing 7 wickets. Rangers in their innings got clean sweep at 66 runs.
Third match was played among Hurricanes and Jaguars where Jaguars put up a total score of 93 runs, and Hurricanes ns got all out after scoring only 57 runs.
4Th match was played between Panthers and Musketeers where Musketeers team put up a total score of 68 runs which the Panthers achieved in just 9.1 overs.
Fifth match was played between Jaguars and Rockers where Rockers put up a total of 78 runs, Jaguars achieved the target very easily by losing only 3 wickets.
Sixth match was played between Hurricanes and Royals where Hurricanes scored 79 runs in 12 overs by losing all the wickets, Royals during their innings achieved the target very easily.
