Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety at DAV College Jalandhar. The campus was filled with a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere.
During the program, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar hoisted the tricolour. The NCC cadets and NSS volunteers paid their respects by saluting while marching past. The college reverberated with the chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” resonating with patriotic fervor.
In his address, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar extended his heartfelt Independence Day greetings, emphasizing the day’s paramount importance as it commemorates India’s hard-fought freedom. He paid homage to the valiant freedom fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of independence and expressed gratitude to them.
He emphasized that true patriotism is displayed through the dedicated and honest fulfillment of one’s duties, which is crucial for the nation’s progress and development. He stated that only through noble thoughts and unwavering commitment to responsibilities can an individual contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan, the Staff Secretary, conveyed his warm Independence Day greetings and thanked the faculty members, non-teaching staff, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and students for their presence.
The curtain descended on the proceedings with the soul-stirring rendition of the national anthem, an embodiment of the country’s spirit and unity. The proceedings were facilitated by Dr. Kirandeep Kaur.
On this occasion, Vice-Principal Prof. Archana Oberoi, Prof. Ashok Kapoor, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Randhawan, Prof. Manu Sood, Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Dr. Dinesh Arora, Prof. Sonika, Sub-Lt.
