Workshop on photography and audio sound.

Post graduate department of journalism and Mass Communication DAV College organised three days workshop on photography and audio sound.
To impart knowledge about basics of photography and cinematography and inspire young minds post graduate department of JMC of DAV College organised three days workshop from September 14 to September 16, 2023 on Photography, Audio and Lighting. The 1st day of 3 days workshop was aimed at familiarising the participants with basics of photography including various parts of camera, different types of cameras, types of lenses, the working of a camera, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and different techniques of photography.
Sukhmanjot Singh, Assistant director of ‘Mastaney’ movie, a renowned Director of Photography and alumnus of the college was the resource person for the workshop. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Head of the department Mrs. Meenakshi Sidhu by presenting momentous to him.
Addressing the students on this workshop Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that these kind of intelectual workshops will help developing overall personality of students and enhance their photography and communication skills. He also congratulated staff of the department for making sincere efforts for organising the workshop.
In the first session of 3 days workshop, Mr. Sukhmanjot talked about the basic concepts of Photography, various functions of the camera, the exposure triangle (Shutter speed, Aperture and ISO) and the principles of composition. Mr. Sukhmanjot also showed some of him recent projects such as a short film “Ek aur azadi” directed by him, in which he discussed his experience and the various shots and angles he used in shooting the film.
During the session, He said that photo journalism and creative photography is attracting young people and through practice and right guidance, one can excel in this profession.
Mrs Meenakshi Mohan Sidhu, Head, PG department of JMC and Media club in-charge concluded the session and said that such collaborative workshops are great platforms for students to learn and exhibit their skills so, they can become industry ready and contribute to media field.
