Inter School Business Plan IDEATHON 2023

Cambridge International Foundation School dominated the Inter School Business Plan Competition at DAV College, won the “IDEATHON 2023” trophy with 93 points, Innocent School Nurpur stood second with 92 points and Delhi Public School stood third with 91 points.

was organised at DAV College, Jalandhar . This business plan competition was organized by Institution Innovation Council in collaboration with Student Advisory and Welfare Council of the college. Ashutosh Wadhwa, Managing Director of Rajhans International, Rajesh Kapoor, Managing Partner of AVI, Gaurav Gupta, Assistant Director of Engineering Export Promotion Council, India and Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan played the role of judges in the competition, who were welcomed by the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, L.A.C. Member Dr. Naveen Sood, Convenor of IIC Dr. Rajiv Puri, Dean of Student Council and Startup Coordinator Prof. Manish Khanna and Dean Academics Prof. Puneet Puri.
The main objective of IDEATHON 2023 is to provide a unique opportunity for students to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to real work situations, to put into practice various entrepreneurship principles with an integrated learning experience among students and the aim was to encourage startups and entrepreneurship skills among the students. Teams had to present an idea of ​​how to improve an existing service or product, or offer a new service or product, through a business plan and concept pitch video.
Inaugurating the competition, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, with his words of wisdom inspired all the teams to think outside the box and explore the enterprise hidden within them. Explaining the meaning of entrepreneurship, he said, Entrepreneurship means living a few years of your life like most people don’t want to live so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar praised the efforts of IIC and SAWC and said that such competitions are very much needed in today’s time, so that the curiosity of students can be developed to know about business ideas and startups and the students can achieve success in their life and to develop confidence to face future challenges.
All teams were well prepared to convince the judges about the profitability of their products. Armed with data and extensive research, participants validated and strengthened their arguments with the right facial expressions, body movements and body language. All teams demonstrated exemplary entrepreneurial abilities as well as superb oratorical skills. He had come here after working very hard to showcase his hidden talent. The youth teams showed confidence in presenting their arguments to the judges.
A total of 26 teams from different schools of Jalandhar participated in the IDEATHON 2023 Business Plan Competition. The competition was conducted in two rounds, the first round was an elimination round in which teams were asked to send their business plans through mail. In the second round, 11 teams were shortlisted and the judges had to evaluate the presentation on the basis of innovation, justification of the idea, content, confidence and query handling etc. Teams were given 10-15 minutes to present their ideas. The prestigious jury members asked the most challenging questions to the young teams. The competition was very tough as all the teams displayed immense confidence and gave brilliant answers to the questions asked by the astute judges.
The members of all the participating teams and all the teachers accompanying them were honored with certificates. First, second and third trophies were also given to the first three placed teams.
