Literary Meet organised by Punjabi Sahitya Sabha, DAV College Jalandhar.
Punjabi Sahitya Sabha DAV College Jalandhar organized a Literary Meet on September 8, 2023. A large number of students who have a deep affinity with Punjabi language and literature participated in this program. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar graced the occasion as the chief guest and Dr. Ashok Kumar Khurana, Head, Department of Punjabi was the resource person. They were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by the faculty members. Principal Dr.Rajesh Kumar described the event as a significant and a commendable one, initiative for the new students of the college who are interested in literature and said that it is very important to have such initiatives for the sake of Punjabi language in the present times. Prof. Ashok Kumar Khurana shared an emotional conversation about Punjabi language, literature and told that how students can relate to it. He also discussed about getting employment through Punjabi language, and shared his experiences related to the press with the students. The forum was moderated by Punjabi Sahitya Sabha in-charge Dr. Sahib Singh and during this he defined literature through the references of Indian poetics and described it as a path for the people and said that it is very important for students to connect with literature nowadays. During this program, MA Part I student Lovepreet Singh presented a beautiful self composed poem written on 35 alphabets of Punjabi. Deputy Head Prof. Sukhdev Singh Randhawa thanked the College Principal, Head Punjabi Department, Sahitya Sabha in charge, departmental teachers and a large number of students for making the literary meet a success and said that the Punjabi department is always committed to such initiatives related to Punjabi language and literature. On this occasion Prof. Balwinder Singh Nandra, Dr. Rajan Sharma, Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Dr. Gurjit Kaur, Prof. Meenu Muskan, Prof. Sahil were present.
