Digital Detox Book Review Challenge
In celebration of International Literacy Day, PG Department of Computer Science, DAV College, Jalandhar hosted an engaging Digital Detox Book Review Reading Session on 08.09.2023 under the umbrella of Digital Detox Challenge. This event brought together students, faculty, and book enthusiasts in a communal celebration of the written words and the joys of reading.
In today’s digital world, a digital detox is essential for mental balance. This challenge helps students disconnect from screens and connect with meaningful content, fostering a culture of reading and self-improvement. The event aimed to promote literacy and reduce screen time by encouraging participants to disconnect from their digital devices and immerse themselves in the world of books. It was a refreshing departure from the digital age as attendees delved into the pages of various literary works. Highlights of events included Book Review Sessions, Engaging Discussions, and Literacy Quizzes. Students picked very interesting books like Atomic Habits, Life is Fair, Learning How to Fly, Dollar Bahu, The Psychology of Money, Ignited Minds, Three Mistakes of My Life, Untouchable, Silent Patient, Energize Your Mind, and many more.

Ms. Namarta Kapoor President, IT Forum motivated students to keep their passion up for reading as books are the best source of knowledge and inspiration. Dr. Nischay Bahl, Head, of Computer Science remarked that digital detox is necessary to step back from the constant buzz of technology. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal of DAV College, Jalandhar appreciates the Computer Science Department for taking the initiative in this meaningful and enriched activity. Mr. Gagan Madaan evaluated all the book reviews and presentations.
