DAV COLLEGIATE SR. SEC. SCHOOL HOST FRESHERS’ PARTY 2023
“A hundred new faces but a million dreams.”
Abundant with vibrancy and vigour, the 10+2 students of DAV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar hosted the Freshers’ party ‘CHARISMA-2023’ in the College Auditorium on September 2, 2023 to welcome the neophytes to the school under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. The entire programme was artistically conducted with the guidelines of Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof. Incharge Collegiate School.
The celebration started at sharp 10:30 am at the DAV Auditorium by our anchors Prof. Gagan from History Department and Aqib and Sakshi (Students of 10+2) with the warm welcome of our Respected Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and all the dignitaries present in the function.
The programme initiated with kindling the lamp by our worthy Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Vice Principal Prof. Salil Uppal & Prof. Archana Oberoi, Dr. Seema, Prof. Incharge Collegiate School, Dr. SK Tuli, Dr. SK Khurana, Dr. Komal and other faculty members to invoke the blessings of Almighty followed by recital of DAV Gaan as per the tradition of DAV family. This was followed by green welcome of our esteemed Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar and all other dignitaries
The Inaugural speech was given by Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof. Incharge Collegiate School. In her address, she highlighted that the intent of freshers’ party was to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and feel connected as an integral part of DAV family. She inspired the students to work hard and lead pious lives so as to bring glory to the name of their parents, the institution and the country. She concluded by wishing the best to the new entrants.
This was followed by speech of the Honourable Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar. He welcomed and blessed the rookie students for their fruitful and bright journey in the Collegiate. Further, he also motivated the new buds to attain success through determined mind and by following the honest and true path in life. Moreover, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar advised the students to inculcate cultural and moral values in their life.
Programme proceeded with the Sarasvati Vandana in a melodic voice by Prof. Monika from Music Department.
There were about 220 students who joined the programme. During the party, freshers along with their seniors got chance to showcase their talent by a stunning ramp walk, various dance performances like solo, Duo, Group dances, Songs and Drama with message by senior students for freshers. Later small games were organized to make the function more tricky and fun!
Talking about the ramp walk, it was conducted in two rounds. Round 1 is an Introductory round and Round 2 is Questions Answer round. Around 22 students participated with full zeal and showcase their talent. Out of 22 contestants for modelling, 8 of them including 4 boys and 4 girls were shortlisted for Round 2 based on which the Mr. and Ms. Freshers were finalized. There was a tough competition among the freshers as they all were amazing! The responsibility of judging the students for modelling were on the shoulders of esteemed HOD of Economics Department Dr.SK Khurana and HOD of Botany Department Dr. Komal.
Excellent Guest performance was also given by Prof. Sahil from Punjabi Department in the form of Bhangra.
Mr.Jasbir (Medical) & Miss. Sakshi (Commerce) were chosen as the Mr. and Miss Fresher respectively.

Mr.Handsome- Krish (Arts)
Ms. Charming – Mannat (Medical)
Mr.Dashing- Simar (Arts)
All awards including sachets and gifts were given by Dr. Seema, Prof. Incharge Collegiate School, Prof. Dr. SK Tuli, Prof. Dr. SK Khurana, Prof. Dr. Komal, Prof.Rajwant, Prof. Sudha and other faculty members to the respective students.
During the programme, students were also given batches of Class Representatives and Student Council. The objective was to contribute to the educational experiences of students by providing them with a positive involvement in the collegiate with widened areas of responsibilities and with more direct participation in organizing and implementing activities and also to promote respect for law and order and general welfare of the Collegiate. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of Dr. Seema, Prof. Incharge Collegiate School.
Refreshments were served in during the program.
Dr. SK Tuli, Dr. Kunwer Rajeev, Dr. Rajwant, Dr. Renuka, Dr. Ashu Behl, Prof. Pooja Sharma, Prof. Meenakshi Mohan, Prof. Sharad Manocha, Prof. Ritu Talwar and all the Collegiate faculty also graced the occasion.
The Event Incharge Dr.Seema Sharma and team put wholehearted efforts to organize a dazzling show and students showcased their pabe of talent. Overall the event was a grand success and a happy moment for DAV family.
At 2 pm, the event was finally concluded with vote of thanks by Shivam of 10+1 Commerce.
