Rangoli Competition Ignites Patriotism and Creativity among DAV College Students in Celebration of Independence Day.
In a vibrant display of patriotism and creativity, Computer Science students of DAV College, Jalandhar participated in a spirited Rangoli Competition celebrating India’s 77th Independence Day. The event took place on 16.08.2023 at the Computer Science Department by IT Forum, PG department of Computer Science with the collaboration of Institutional Innovation Council, DAV College, Jalandhar.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation of 40 students from the Computer Science Department, with a total of 14 teams showcasing their artistic talents through intricately designed Rangoli patterns inspired by the theme of Independence Day. The event aimed to foster a sense of national pride while providing a platform for students to express their creative ideas and pay homage to the country’s rich heritage.
Judges Mr. Naveen Saini, HOD, Library and Ms. Shaveta, Librarian had the challenging task of evaluating the Rangoli creations. Each team’s unique interpretation of the theme left the audience and judges in awe, highlighting the participants’ artistic prowess and dedication.

The event brought students together in a spirit of camaraderie, fostering cultural interactions and celebrating the essence of India’s freedom.
Constructive Feedback session was conducted at the end of the competition by Dr. Nischay Bahl, Dr. Rajeev Puri Convenor, IIC and Ms. Namarta Kapoor to discuss learning outcomes of the session which were Teamwork & Collaboration, Creativity, Sense of Responsibility, Confidence, Fine Motor Skills, Presentation Skills, and Time Management.
The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among the participants, reinforcing the importance of preserving and cherishing the nation’s hard-fought independence.
