The Department of Philosophy πππ ππ¨π₯π₯ππ π πππ₯ππ§ππ‘ππ« organized an extension lecture on the topic of National Education Policy and its Relation with Philosophy. The event was graced by worthy Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar.
The Principal and Dr. Kulwinder Singh, the HoD Philosophy department, warmly welcomed the resource person, Dr. Lallan Singh Baghel, Chairperson of the Department of Philosophy, Panjab University Chandigarh.
In his address, the Principal emphasized the importance of the National Education Policy highlighting that it has brought about radical transformations since its inception in 2020.
Dr. Baghel drew the attention of the students and teachers to three main aspects. Firstly, he discussed how the new National Education Policy prepares us to face the challenges of education in the era of globalization and the marketing of education since the post-1991 era. Secondly, he explained the challenges of imparting education in Indian languages. He stressed the need to explore various possibilities and preserve Indian languages. He added that our education system should be beyond common man. He encouraged students to write their research papers in their mother tongue which is as important as any other language.
Dr. Ashok Khurana, Head of the Punjabi Department, proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the lecture. The event was attended by faculty members Dr. S.K. Khurana, Dr. Balwinder Singh, Dr. Sahib Singh, PRO Dr. Vinod, Dr. Gurjeet Kaur, and many students of different streams
