A two-day book exhibition, organized by the Book Buddies Club of the college library, was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Head of the Library Prof. Saini and Incharge of the Book Buddies club Prof. Shweta. The main objective of this exhibition was to acquaint the students with the collection available in the library and to promote the habit of reading among the students.
Over 2,000 titles were displayed on the first day of the exhibition. Faculty and students from different departments of the college visited the exhibition.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that books inculcate positive attitude in a person, for which there is no alternative. There have been a lot of changes in the curriculum under the present education system and from this point of view this book exhibition is very beneficial for the students. Principal Dr. Rajesh said that children are gradually losing the habit of reading books. If the book is in front of them, interest in reading will arise, while on the other hand, e-resources do not have that attraction which comes after seeing the book.
Head of the library, Prof. Naveen Saini said that book exhibition is included in the regular activities of the library. Books are best friends. Book Exhibition is such a platform where we try to present academic friend. We have many publishers registered and about two thousand books have been placed in our today’s book exhibition and students will get better benefits through this book exhibition.
On the first day, a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the students regarding the exhibition. Feedback was also taken from the students. Many suggestions were from faculty and students. Visitors also purchased many books.
On this occasion Vice Principal Prof. Archana Oberoi, Staff Secretary Dr. Manu Sood, Dr. Raj Kumar, Prof. Sonika, Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan, Dr. Naveen Sood, Prof. Manish Khanna, Prof. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Komal Arora, Prof. Sandeepna Sharma, Prof. Ashok Kapoor, Dr. Suresh Khurana, Arun Prashar, Narinder Pal, Surinder Kaur etc were present.
