The inaugural session was presided by Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. The session started with DAV Anthem. Afterwards, Principal Sir and members of the department sought the blessings of Almighty with lamp lighting ceremony. Head of the Department Dr. SK Tuli along with organizing secretary Dr. Ashu Bahl accorded a floral welcome to the Principal Sir. Dr. SK Tuli, in his welcome address, introduced the gathering to the glorious history of the college as well as the department and also highlighted the importance of National Mathematics Day.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, in his address, highlighted the importance of Mathematics in different spheres of life. He emphasized upon the interdisciplinary relevance of the subject and blessed the students saying Good luck to all the participants.
In the event different competitions like quiz, poster presentation, model exhibition and fantastic flexagons were organized to highlight the aesthetic, fun, application and inquisitive aspect of Mathematics. It was an inter college fest in which 11 different institutions in and around Jalandhar participated and contested for the same. The screening and quiz session was conducted by Prof. Sahil Nagpal and Prof. Ranjita Guglani under the able guidance of Prof. Anju Chhabra. The judges for different competitions were Dr. SK Tuli & Dr. PK Sharma (Model Exhibition), Dr. Nischay Bahl & Prof. Monika Chopra (Poster presentation) and Dr. Naresh Rakha & Prof. Anju Chhabra (Flexagons). Dr. Sharanjeet Sandhu from Physics dept. also contributed to the event by making the students aware about importance of Mathematics in Physics.
The second session started with formal welcome of the speaker of the day Dr. Naresh Rakha, Sr. Scientific Officer, IIT Ropar and Expert member FELA foundation. The resource person delivered an extension lecture on the topic โCareer opportunities in public & private sector as well as in academicsโ after doing degree in Mathematics. In addition, he enlightened the students about entrepreneurship and starts up ideas and motivated them to be self-reliant. The students enjoyed the interaction session a lot and all concerns were answered by the resource person.
In the end, the most awaited valedictory session was organized. The stage was conducted by Dr. Seema Sharma and results were declared as under:

The winners were congratulated for their achievements and were awarded trophies by Principal Sir.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ashu Bahl. The event came to an end with recitation of National Anthem. On this occasion Prof. Monish Arora and Prof. Preety Rawat were also present.
The event brought about a positive outlook for the subject among the students and the students were encouraged not only to learn mathematics but also to love Mathematics.
