The student advisory and welfare council of the college in association with Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication invited the renowned journalist of NDTV, Arun Singh, who is an alumnus of the college, for an interaction session with the students. The interaction was aimed to connect students with a seasoned professional and personalize their learning process.
Arun Singh who is an acclaimed journalist with NDTV and a social media influencer as TheJhumroo enlightened students regarding opportunities in the media domain. He shared effective tips and methods to enhance Interpersonal Communication, body language especially when one is oriented towards working with professional media platforms.
During the Q&A session, students were mesmerised by Arun’s spontaneous reactions and charm of an extroverted personality. The session revolved around the challenges of media field and the inspiration for Arun’s content as TheJhumroo.
After the session, Mr. Arun visited the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication where he shared the memories from his time in the department. He also generously contributed to the Book donation camp being organised in the college from 6-14 February, 2023 by donating some of his personal books.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said, the journey from being a student to sit in the chair of a chief guest in one’s alma mater is honorable. From being an active and talented member of various clubs and activities of the college including Youth Parliament, Theatre and youth festival, Arun has come a long way in his career. We feel proud that he has achieved so many laurels in such a short span of time.
Dean Student welfare Prof Manish Khanna said, the interaction with a youth icon like Arun Singh is the most effective way to motivate young students. Witnessing someone who belongs to the same place and who have built a successful career instils a renewed confidence in the students.
Prof. Meenakshi Mohan, HOD JMC Dept on the arrival of her alumnus said, Arun was a proactive and talented student of the department who started working at a very young age while pursuing graduation. He still radiates the same enthusiasm and charisma that students can learn from.
On this occasion, Prof. Naveen Sood, Prof. Hina Arora, Prof. Shweta, Prof. Sahib Singh, Prof. Payal, Prof. Rajwinder, Prof. Niharika and Prof. Prabhjot Singh were also present.
