“Police Commemorated Day” was celebrated collectively by N.S.S and N.C.C unit at D.A.V. College, Jalandhar. On this occasion, B.S.F commandant Satpal Singh and his fellow policemen, respected Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, N.C.C incharge Prof. S.K Tuli, N.S.S incharge Prof. S.K Midda, Registrar Prof. Deepak kunwar, Vice Principal Prof. Archana Oberoi, Dr. Sahib Singh, Dr. Gurjeet Kaur, Prof. Sonika, Prof. Jasmeen Kaur, other faculty members and students paid heartfelt tribute to the Deputy Commandant, Martyr Muhinder Raj.
Mr. Muhinder Raj was born on December 12, 1968, in the village of Narsar Badana, district of Hoshiarpur. Mr. Muhinder Raj was an alumnus of D.A.V. College, Jalandhar. Commandant Satpal Singh said that due to his fearless and dynamic nature, Mr. Muhinder Raj was appointed as joint assistant director in Bandipur (Jammu-Kashmir). On July 12-13, 1999 midnight, some terrorists armed with automatic weapons opened fire on the family quarters of B.S.F. campus sector Bandipur, where Mr. Muhinder Raj, Deputy Commandant, confronted the enemies and died fighting.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that he is proud of the bravery of this great warrior who sacrificed his life for the pride of his Nation. He encouraged the students to walk on Mr. Muhinder Raj’s footprints. Concluding the programme, Dr. S.K. Tuli and Prof. S.K. Midda thanked everyone.
