“It is time to remove the darkness of ignorance within us and replace it with the light of hope and knowledge instead”.
On the occasion of Diwali, the PG Department of Computer Science organized Rangoli Competition based on the theme “GREEN DIWALI” on October 21, 2022 in the department. The department wore a festive look with decorated candles, diyas and torans adorning the reception, corridors and labs with students wearing colorful dresses. Students participated in competition to mark the festival of lights with full fervor and zeal.
Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar was the chief-guest of the function. He appealed to the students to celebrate a pollution free Diwali by not bursting crackers, instead spread the light of wisdom and sound of wits.
The contest was judged by Madam Jeevan Asha, Head, Department of Sanskrit and Prof. Bharatendu Singla, Head Food Science Department. Judges marveled at the creativity of the students and blessed them. Rashi and Sukhman bagged the Ist Prize, Tanmoy and Sahil came second and Harshita got the third prize. Amanpreet and Kashish got the consolation prize. Prof. Ritika Sobti, Event manager and President, IT Forum were full of Praise for the students and expressed views that the future is bright for the brilliant students as well as for our beloved alma-mater.
The function was concluded with a message by Head of department, Dr. Nischay Bahl, who offered his warm wishes to the children and reiterated that children should celebrate Green Diwali in its purest form by lighting the lamps and sharing with less fortunate.
The function was made glorious by the gracious presence of Faculty members of Computer Science Prof. Monika Chopra, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Prof. Amit Sharma, Dr. Kawaljeet, Prof. Leekha Jindal, Dr Rajeev Puri, Prof. Ritika Sobti, Prof. Namarta Kapoor, Prof. Tanu, Prof. Neha, Prof. Gaurav Kapoor, Prof. Anisha, Prof. Neha Malhotra, Prof. Richa, Prof. Aarti, Prof, Paramjit, Prof. Harshita, Prof. Aarti, Prof. Anamika, Prof. Shalini attended this event along with non-teaching faculty members and students who participated in this event.
