AFST society of food science &Tech department organized ‘Food Craft Mela’. The event was organized to motivate the students for the development of innovative food products and crafts made from food waste.
Prof. Bhartendu Singla, Head of Dept, Prof Anu Gupta, incharge AFST Society, Prof. Pankaj Gupta & Prof. Swati accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest of the day Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar.
Various food stalls were set up by students of the department such as Mango Bomb, Chocolate Pop-sickle, Truffle Cake, Energy bar, Turkey delight, kuru yemis ladoo ,Sidhu delight, Himachali sweet, Organic diya & Wastepaper candles etc. Principal Sir admired the initiative taken by the department and highly appreciated the various products prepared by students and encouraged them to commercialize these products. Students & Various faculty members of another department also visited the mela and highly appreciated the mela.
Stall for Detection of adulteration in Diwali sweets like milk & milk products was center of attraction of mela and created awareness about food Adulteration.
