The training and placement cell of DAV College Jalandhar organised another one-day workshop on 19th October 2019 under the guidance of Prof. Manav Aggarwal (Dean, Training and placement cell). The workshop was focused on group discussions, resume writing and personal interviews.
The event was inaugrated by Principal Dr S. K. Arora, Prof.Manav Aggarwal, Dr Nischay Behl, Prof. Rajiv Puri, Prof. Amit Jain, Prof. Vishal Sharma , Prof. Sameer, Prof. Neeraj and Prof. Vishal (Science City) . All the dignitaries were welcomed with a bouquet and momento.
Dr Nischay Bahl encouraged the initiative and motivated the students by telling about the benefits of this opportunity offered to them.
The guest trainer for the workshop was Ms Shatabdi S. Das who holds a great work experience in this field. She has conducted several seminars and workshops across the country. She is currently working with ITM business school, Mumbai. Ms Das was accompanied by Mr Archit from ITM, Mumbai.
The session commenced with grooming tips where our guest taught the students “the right way to dress up” during an interview. It was followed by resume writing in which Ms Das showed the correct way to draft a resume.
After that, group discussions session began. At first, the speaker enlightened the students about the importance of every minute in such a session. Secondly, the do’s and don’ts for a participant of GD were told. All students participated in the Group discussions.
Topics for the various GD sessions were:
1. Is MBA a ladder to corporate success?
2. Love Marriage vs Arranged Marriage
3. Life without mobile phones
4. Water
The next session commenced with mock interviews. Throughout the session, Ms Das kept on informing the students about various anticipated questions and the methods to tackle any complicated situation that may arise in an interview.
The queries of students were answered one by one by the trainer.
At last, Trainer Ms Shatabdi S Das announced the winners from different sessions of this workshop and encouraged all the students to work hard and succeed in life.
The winners were:
