The Department of Computer Science, DAV College, Jalandhar organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Cloud Computing’, on 27th August 2019, in Computer Science Seminar Hall under IT Forum 2019. The purpose of this Guest Lecture was to familiarize students with the upcoming most vibrant area of Cloud Computing and its applications.
The Guest Speaker was Mr. Syed Irfan who is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of computer science, SSM College of Engineering, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
The students of Computer science department and faculty members assembled by 11.30 am at the Seminar Hall. Dr. Nischay Bahl, HoD of Computer Science department welcomed Mr. Syed Irfan. Presence of about 100 students showed the enthusiasm and desire to learn new technological changes in computer science. Among faculy, Dr. Rajeev Puri, Dr. Lalit Goyal, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Prof. Monika Chopra, Prof. Leekha, Prof. Kanika, Prof. Ritika were present.
Prof. Syed Irfan started his lecture by giving an introduction to Cloud Computing and its basic concepts. He then spoke about the importance of Cloud Computing in the IT field. He elaborated on the different models of Cloud. He also gave a demo to the students about how a Cloud can be setup using the Microsoft Azure Platform. The students actively participated in the event by interacting with Prof. Syed Irfan and asking interesting questions on Cloud Computing. The Lecture concluded at 1.00 noon, with a vote of thanks by Dr.Nischay Bahl (HOD)
