Botany Department of DAV College, Jalandhar celebrated National Science Day by organizing the Plant Utsav -2019 under the aegis of Kashyap Biological Society. The program was inaugurated by worthy Principal Dr. S.K. Arora. It included two competitions. A poster making competition on theme “Insights into Plant Tissues” was held in the morning session. Dr. Lovleen was its coordinator. Total 38 students of BSc. Medical participated in it and Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, Ms. Deeksha Singh and Ms. Reetika won first, second and third prizes respectively. In the second part of the program Botanical Tambola was played by students and teachers of department. Dr. Sonia coordinated this event very well. Cash prizes were awarded to Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Sunanada for House full. All winners were presented mementos as the token of appreciation by Dean Academics Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan and Head of Deptt. Dr. Komal Arora. Prof. Dhawan congratulated members of botany department for organizing an innovative program. In the end, Dr. Lovleen thanked all participants, teaching and non-teaching staff members for making this event successfull. Faculty members from different departments; Prof. SK Midha, Dr. Sameer Sharma, Dr. Jeevanasha, Prof. Anu Gupta, Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Rishi graced the occasion with their presence.
