The celebration of the centenary year, the most prestigious college in the city, DAV College had to have a happy atmosphere because the college’s 2011 Commerce Batch student, CA Amandeep Singh cleared the civil service examination.

It is considered difficult to pass this examination which comprises of three rounds. There are candidates who pass it after years of hard work and attempts and there are some who get success only by putting less effort. Amandeep Singh, who cleared this examination on Friday, got this success in the fourth attempt.

Amandeep Singh received a warm welcome from Principal Dr. SK Arora, Vice Principal Prof. VK Sareen, Vice Principal Prof TD Saini, Registrar Prof Arun Mehra and PRO Prof Manish Khanna.

After passing the Civil Service Examination of 2017, CA Amandeep said, “This is a very happy moment for me. It’s like having a dream come true. I always wanted to be an IFS officer. My feelings cannot be described in words. Today I feel myself on the top of the world. I believe in the proverb try again and again. I was trying since 2014. He said I felt so relieved. Things started looking so colourful. The satisfaction that saints and gurus usually talk about, this is that satisfaction according to me. The feeling of working towards something, feeling the pain and then finally getting it is unexplainable.

To be frank, it is like coming out of darkness. It was like coming out of an unending bad dream. Clearing the exam after all the hurdles make you feel like a phoenix. On 27th April, after I saw my name in the coveted list, I just went into my room, saw the mirror and told myself “Mr you are going to be an officer soon. That is it. It has happened. And it is real. The dream has come true”. He added, I blindly believed that I will be able to clear someday if I work consistently and make some progress every day in spite of working and I succeed.

Amandeep, who had studied at DAV College, had also achieved success in chartered accountancy. His goal was to become an IFS Officer. He said, I want to thank my college, from where I taught everything, my teachers taught me the lessons of dedication, commitment, hard work, concentration, and determination, from here I dreamed for IFS, which was completed and I am proud to be here now in my college Thank you all.
