*Extension lecture on Health Awareness in P.G Department of Mathematics.*
P.G Department of Mathematics D.A.V College,Jalandhar organised an extension lecture on ‘Health Awareness’. The resource persons were Dr.Sushma Chawla, President NARCHI Jalandhar Chapter and Dr. Deepali Chawla, M.D accorded a formal welcome by honourable Principal Dr.S.K Arora, H.O.D Prof.Ajay Kumar Aggarwal and other faculty members of the department.
The key topic was to create awareness among the youth about the possible threats to health in the current scenario.
Dr.Sushma Chawla highlighted the ribbon movement and made the students aware of Cervical cancer, HIV and other deadly diseases. She suggested them to be alert and aware and also discussed in detail the various vaccines available for their prevention.
Dr.Deepali Chawla highlighted the importance of general health and laid stress on intake of healthy diet. She also made the students alert about themselves showing various symptoms of anaemia and calcium deficiency.
Both of them not only guided the students about good health but also emphasized on the need of Women Empowerment.
It was an informative and interactive session.
Principal Dr.S.K Arora also stressed on the need of such interdisciplinary and general lectures for the benefit of students.
Prof.Ashu Bahl, President Bansi Lal Mathematical society thanked the guests.
Later on a free of cost H.B detection camp was organised and students were provided with free dosage of iron.
Prof.S.K Tuli, Prof.Anju Chabbra , Dr.Sameer Sharma, Dr.Seema Sharma, Prof.Rajesh Prashar and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
