N.S.S and N.C.C unit of DAV College Jalandhar took an initiative for giving knowledge about monetary problems, its deeds and deals were taken under an interesting discussion in a lecture on “Digital Payments Awareness Program” . A person can use mobiles and computers in order to do online payment, he can pay his bills do online shopping name it and it will be done ,either it is buying vegetables, dairy product or anything else they desire with this method of online payments they can fulfil their wants.
Chief speakers for this lecture were Dr S.K .Khuranna (HOD Economics Deptt) and Dr Nishchay Behl(HOD Computer Science Deptt), they taught students how to do digital payments, different ways to do digital payments, how to propagate digi payments, online shopping, online air ticket booking ,cyber law, cyber crime and how to save ourselves from online fraud.
Dr Nischay Behl shared that, according to the report of management consulting firm (BCG) till 2020 the number of mobile users will be about 30crores. Which will lead to approx 55Lakh croer mobile wallet money till the year 2022 which is presently approx 20 thousands crore , i.e in coming 4 years mobile payments will be the only trend in fashion. The above speculation seems surreal as from year 2014-15 , mobile wallet users were 25 crores which is currently more than 60 crores now. Dr Behl through his power point presentation showed students how to use ATM machine, credit card, debit card and apps like Paytm. He also taught ways to avoid online frauds.
Dr S.K.Khurana said that the step taken for demonetization of currency is a very good initiative by the govt of India because now the movement in economy is under control and economy will grow properly. He shared his ideas on digital payment and told different ways about how to make everyone use this digital payment system.
Principal S.K.Arora also encouraged students by saying our county is on a path of becoming fully digital, it is the duty of our young generation to take this initiative of digitalizing our country to next level. Make your family join this process of making our country digital and reduce liquidity preference.
