In order to help students who need economic support scholarship where given under the name of Shiv Chand Jyoti Scholarship, every year talented and needy students get help from it.This year scholarship worth Rs Two Lakh and twenty thousand was given

D.A.V College Jalandhar,had a scholarship drive with a motive of “College for everyone” under the name of Shiv Chand Jyoti Scholarship. This scholarship is given to those students who are talented and need economic support.
It was started by a Singapore based alumnus Shri Ram.K.Gupta in the memory of his father Shri Shiv Chand Gupta. It gives him an immense pleasure,by contributing back to college.
Vice principal Prof Vijay Gupta said that,this scholarship is given on the base of talent and need of economic support for the students,hence was distributed on four parameters.On the base of the interview of the students scholarships of Rs 1000 and Rs 5000 was given.
Dr B.B.Sharma informed that,with the help of this scholarship 78 worthy students were helped.Principal Sharma also thanked and welcome Shri Ram.K.Gupta and shared that Mr Gupta was a student as well as a teacher in Political Science Deptt of this college.And from 2006 continuously a grant of 2-2.5 lakh comes every year.
Whole process of scholarship was held under the guidence of Vice Principal Vijay Gupta, Vice Principal V.K.Sareen, Registrar Prof A.K.Bhardwaj, Bursar Prof Rakesh K Sharma, Chief. Warden Prof T D Saini, Dean Placement Prof Nishchay Behl. P.R.O Manish Khanna and Accounts Officer Shri Anil Sharma were also present.
