National Workshop
National Workshop on “Transport Phenomenon in Low Dimensional Systems & First Principle Simulation of Condensed Matter Systems” is being organized in Postgraduate Department of Physics, DAV College, Jalandhar from September 29 – October 5, 2016. The aim of workshop, on one hand, is to learn basic concepts of low dimensional quantum systems and to study transport properties of these systems. On the other hand, we wish to introduce First Principle Simulation of condensed matter physics. The quest for specifically designed materials with applications ranging from medicine to advanced electronics, asks for study of materials at smaller scales. Mathematical as well as computational, both these aspects of study of materials at low dimensions can contribute to design of new materials with desired properties. This workshop is targeted to teach these two methods (Mathematical & Simulation). Dr. Santunu Maiti from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and Dr. Ashok Kumar from Central University of Punjab, Bathinda will be the resource persons for this workshop. Participants will be given fully designed course in both parts in this workshop.
The participation is invited from postgraduate students, research scholars and teachers from educational and research institutions. The participation is limited to 30 participants only on first come first serve basis. Participants can register themselves by paying the registration through draft favoring “Principal DAV College Jalandhar” payable at Jalandhar along with registration form.
