IT forum organised Rangoli Making Competition

“Light up all the beautiful lamps , to enlighten up all the pathways”

IT forum of DAV College jalandhar organised a rangoli making competition to mark the upcoming festival of lights -Deepawali.

In the esteemed presence of Principal Dr B B Sharma, the rangoli competition was observed , which was initiated by Prof Nischay Behl (head of department ,computer science ).

Principal Dr B B Sharma at this colorful occasion quoted “such events inspire the kids to do something incredible , and inculcate the spirit of competitiveness in them , which leads to mental enlightenment and incarnation of hidden talents in the young minds “.

Prof Nischay Behl at the commencement of the competition quoted ” without taking it as some sort of competitive event , present your rangoli , your colors in accordance to your inner imagination and present your work in the most real and artistic manner”.

The jury included Deputy registrar Dr Kiranjeet Randhawa and Prof Monika Behl .

The students created beautiful rangoli pattern on various concepts like Om ,Swastik , Peacock etc where Megha (BCA 3rd) , Devanshi stood first in the rangoli making .Sushmita (BCA 3) ,Priya ,neha (MSc1) , roopinder stood second and Parul (BCA It) , Isha and Maninder stood third in the competition.

All the winners were honoured by giving sounveniers

Prof Lekha Jindal (President IT forum) told that along with rangoli making , Pooja thaali , Candle and diya making competition was also held. And she told how with great deal of zeal and enthusiasm , the students took part in the competition in a very exciting manner , and she told how with normal things they presented beautiful rangolis , candles etc

They used rice ,pulses and colors to present their rangolis etc .

Deputy Registrar Dr Kiranjeet Randhawa quoted ” rangoli are a symbol of incredible and beautiful Indian culture. And folk festivals hold an integral place in our culture ,where guests are treated as god , and are made to enter our homes , with great degree of respect and gratitude , for which rangolis are presented at the doorsteps .She quoted ” I am happy and pleased with the beautiful talents exhibited by the students in this rangoli making “.

Prof Lalit ,Prof Archa ,Prof Gagandeep ,Prof Neeru , Prof Namarta and Prof Ritika Malhotra were present to grace the occasion.
