The English department of DAV college jalandhar organised a welcome party for the the new comers the fresher’s to welcome them in their new college life and make it a memorable experience for them.
The students of MA (2nd) welcomed their new juniors of MA(1st) in a very pleasant and pleasing manner and make them feel special.
Honorable principal Dr B B Sharma was the revered chief guest on the occasion , whose presence always inspires the students .
The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony of remembering the goddess , and the lamp lighting by remembering the goddess was facilitated by Principal Dr B B Sharma , vice principal and HOD of English Dr Ravi Manuja , Prof S K Uppal and Dr Neb (president English seminar society) .
The lamp lighting ceremony made the environment pious and religious .
The students presented up a really colorful performances to please their juniors and the dignitaries present respectively.They presented western dances to entertain the audience , Punjabi folks which rejunvated the Punjabi culture , sang melodious songs which created a sizzling environment and presented shayaris which mesmerized everyone present in the auditorium .
Everyone was truly thrilled with the colourful performances presented by the students .
In the party Tushar Sharma of MA 1st was tagged as “Mr Fresher” , and Ravneet as “miss Fresher”.
Principal Dr B B Sharma addressed the students on the occasion and praised about the exemplary performances they exhibited at the event and he revealed his wish that they continue their glorious performances even in the university examinations and further inspired them to take part in extra curricular activities to enhance overall development of their personality.
Dr Ravi Manuja (Vice principal and HOD English department) gave his heartfelt wishes and prayed for their glorious future and inspired them to keep working hard and dedicatedly.
