The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry of DAV college Jalandhar organised an extension lecture on “Spectroscopy- a versatile tool with scientific community” under the aegis of S S Bhatnagar Chemical society.
The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Pawan Kumar (Principal Ludhiana college of engineering and technology ) . He was presented with a floral welcome by principal Dr B B Sharma and Prof A K Bhardwaj( HOD chemistry department) .
The chief guest while delivering his extension lecture he exclaimed spectroscopy as the science which deals with the theory and interpretation of interaction between matter and radiation.
He gave all the valuable information and talked various aspects of spectroscopy and how it is useful in the molecular structure determination.
He further quoted” In the today research scenario, spectroscopy is used in one way or the other in various branches of science as it is most reliable to know about the structure of unknown compound ..he discussed about UV,IR ,NMR ,mass spectroscopy etc” .
Prof A K Bhardwaj (HOD Chemistry department) gave a vote of thanks for the informatory extension lecture delivered by the worthy chief guest and guiding the scholars on the emerging concept of Spectroscopy.
Principal Dr B B Sharma quoted “such workshops add to the knowledge and skill of the students and such lectures should be conducted on a regular basis as it add to the general knowledge “.
At the occasion Prof A K Bhardwaj , Prof Vinod , Prof Sikka , Prof Ajay , Prof Sarita , Prof Sheetal and other faculty members were also present .
