Extension Lecture on Digital India

“Digital India is a mission , which will impart farsightedness ,health and easiness in government tasks and the work will be finished in just a single click ” quoted Dr Kulwant in a seminar organised by DAV college on Digital India concept given by the Prime Minister

The computer science department of DAV organised the seminar on the incredible and unique scheme of Digital India given by the prime minister . The chief guest of the seminar event was Dr Kulwant (HOD of Computer Science in APJ institute of management). The chief guest was given a warm welcome by Dr BB Sharma (principal DAV college), Prof Nischay Behl (Hod computer science department).
The main focus of the organised seminar was to impart knowledge on the ambitious concept originated by the prime minister “Digital India”.

Presiding over the event principal Dr BB Sharma quoted” with the advent of digital India work would eventually become easier , and with just a single click important information and data would be provided to the prospective people and users”.

Dr Kulwant provided knowledge on the new scheme launched for the common man of India viz “Digital Locker scheme” through a power point presentation . He told how by under this scheme any person by logging in and creating an account on the internet website Digilocker.gov.in , with this the people can secure their documents like Pan card, driving license, aadhar card etc can be kept secured. It also assists in online transactions. Dr Kulwant quoted” the online system is bound to benefit the future generations ” because this technology will be available in kind of languages . Digital India will assist in making the tasks online such as payment of taxes, e-billing, mobile billing, shopping, education, medical facilities and it will be available both in rural and urban areas . He told how this technology is bound to benefit all the people.

In order to make this scheme a complete success the information technology and computer science students are playing important role .

On this occasion Prof Lekha Jindal (IT Forum president), Prof Vishal Sharma, Prof Lalit Goyal, Prof Nancy and other members were also present.
