In the latest list released by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) an autonomous institution of UGC (University Grants Commission) DAV College Jalandhar has re-accredited with Grade A with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) score of 3.76 on a scale ranging from 0 to 4.
The accreditation and re-accreditation results of 181 institutions in the country were approved by Standing Committee of NAAC in its 4th meeting held on December 10, 2014. Of them, 93 went for the first cycle and 88 for second and subsequent cycles. DAV College Jalandhar tops the list with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.76 on a 4 point scale.
Under the new grading system, CGPA reflects the quality status of higher education institutions.
In this context, DAV College with CGPA 3.76 stands the highest among the 181 institutions assessed and accredited by NAAC in the latest list. It also brings DAV Jalandhar into top NAAC rated institutes of India.
College had submitted its Self-Study Report for Assessment and accreditation for the second cycle in February 2014. The three members NAAC Peer Team visited the college from September 25 to 27, 2014 for validation of the Self Study Report. They visited all 21 departments and interacted with the teaching and non-teaching staff, students, alumni and parents. They also visited all the support facilities, playground, hostels, canteen etc. On the basis of the evaluation of Peer team, College gets the highest score 3.76 amongst affiliated, co-educational colleges.
