A Two Day National Seminar On Indian Police: Expectations, Performance and Constraints was conducted by D.A.V. College Jalandhar sponsored by ICSSR New Delhi on November 4-5, 2014. Prof. Maneesh Arora Addressed the Resource person chief guest and Convenors of occasion. Dr.B.B. Sharma Principal DAV College Jalandhar along with Dr. Raj Kumar Convenors of the Seminar welcomed the Dignitaries and facilitated the guest Dr. D.R. Bhatti (Formal DIG Police). Sh.Ravinder Singh Nagi (State Information Punjab),Prof. Kulwant Kaur (Prof. Of Political Science University Of Jammu) with floral welcome and occasion began with lighting of holy lamp of knowledge. Convenors and Key Note Speakers addressed the students about Indian Police and Role Of Police in society and enlightened about various aspects of Police .Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh (DIG ) said that The Police is the most the visible organ of society and even told that we have adapted various Old Police Laws ,since 1860’s .Dr. D.R, Bhatti defined the “Police” as Polite obedient loyal intelligent corruption free and effective. Sh. Ravinder Singh Nagi discussed about Problems of Police and responsibilities of department and even told that there must be equal effort by the citizens and we should be focused to good citizenship and Prof. Kulwant Kaur
( Guest of Honour) from University Of Jammu discussed about social aspects of profession and told that Police should adapt scientific ways to their profession. With this inaugural session of First day of National Seminar came to its end by vote of thanks to Dignitaries by Dr. Sanjeev Dhawan followed by Tea Break. In Technical session Dr. Simranjeet Singh Bains, Dr. Dalvir Singh, Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Ms. Anupama Verma and Ms. Ritu Sekhri presented their Papers.College Faculty was present along with delegates and Students.
