The department of Sanskrit, under the aegis of ‘Kalidas Sanskrit Parishad’ organized an extension lecture on the topic ‘Relevance of Vedic Thoughts in modern era’ on August 22 at DAV College, Jalandhar.
Dr. Rajeshwar Mishra from Kurukshetra University was the main speaker. Delivering the lecture, the speaker said that our Vedas point out the harmony of thoughts, words and deeds. Vedas considered the universe as a family and aimed at the universal good for all beings in it. Vedas do not believe in discrimination, he said.
Head of Sanskrit department, Dr. Vijay Kumari Gupta gave a formal welcome speech followed by a welcome note and thanks by worthy principal of the college, Dr. B.B. Sharma. Dr. Jeevan Asha extended a vote of thanks towards the end of the lecture. All members of the Sanskrit and Hindi department along with the students were there to grace the occasion.
