Free Computer Awareness Workshop for Senior Citizens and Parents organized in DAV College Jalandhar from 20-27 June 2007.
One week Free Workshop on Computer Awareness for Senior Citizens, Housewives and Parents was successfully organized by Department of computer Science, DAV College Jalandhar from 20th June, 2014 to 27th June, 2014.
A total of 97 participants including senior citizens, house wives and school going children registered for the workshop. In total 14 sessions spread over a week, the College faculty imparted training on Microsoft operating system, Ms word, Internet surfing, search engine techniques, Social Networking, Internet Shopping and Online Bill Payments etc.
Prof. Nischay Bahl, Coordinator for the Workshop thanked all the members and said that these kind of social activities will be organized more frequently for the welfare of the society. He said that participants have learned how to make online payments of bills and use internet in day to day life ranging from health care to railway reservation applications.
In valedictory session of the Workshop, Principal Dr. B.B. Sharma emphasized the importance of continuous learning throughout the life of the person. He also wished success to the participants. The participants expressed their valuable opinion and wished that the similar programs should be conducted as a routine. Prof. Nitin, Rajiv, Leekha, Namrata, Nancy, Pawan, Orvindra Singh and other members of staff were present at the event.
