Translation studies as an independent genre/discipline is gaining currency in the wake of spread of knowledge. The constantly increasing love and demand for translation the world over as brought about a sea change in the concept and character of translation. From linguistic to textual and moving on to present cultural theories on translation studies, the debate of translation is raising fresh questions on translation. Hence, words like translation, transliteration, transcreation, substitution or transference of content/ meaning from source language to target language need to be understood in the right perspective. To deliberate on such vital issues related to translation, the Dept. of English is organising 1-Day National Seminar on 28 April 2014 as per following details.  

We seek Participation of your teachers from the Faculty of Languages (Hindi, Punjabi, English, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Library Science, etc.) in the seminar as a delegate/paper presenter. Brief information about the seminar is as follows:

Call for Papers

Original Contributions relevant to the seminar are welcome as per the following specifications:

1.            Length of the paper upto 4000 words, single space, 12 point font size, Times new roman, MSWord.

2.            Abstract should be of 300 words including keywords, methodology, sample of population and findings.

3.            Follow API style of reference for references and cited work. For more details click http://www.apastyle.org

4.            Paper should mention Name/Names of author(s), addresses (postal and email) and mobile numbers.

5.            Paper should be based on original research.

6.            Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN.

7.            Papers should be mailed to anoopvatts@rocketmail.com, or sharadmanocha@gmail.com

8.            Hard copy of the paper should be submitted on the day of seminar.

•             Last date for submission of full papers 23.4.2014

•             Registration Fee  Rs. 300/- (on the Spot)

•             Papers Presented during the seminar shall be published in form of a book with ISBN
