Annual Convocation was organized on 17 Feb, 2013 by DAV College Jalandhar at college auditorium. Honorable Dr. Arun Grover, Vice-Chancellor Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. Principal Dr. B.B. Sharma declared the convocation open and honored the chief guest. The opening and closing ceremony was conducted by Prof. Ravi Manuja, Registrar of the college. Total 760 degrees were given o graduate and post graduate students of session 2009-2010. Degrees were distributed to students by Dr. B.B. Sharma and Prof. Ravi Manuja announced their names.
Dr. Arun Grover read the convocation address and congratulated the students. He talked about the contribution of eminent teachers of Punjab in promoting the education in the last 150 years. He is alumnus of the college and also shared his experience and journey with DAV College. He said pre-doctorate environment should be created in the colleges for promoting research based education.
Dr. Arun Grover alongwith Principal Dr. B.B. Sharma started the Convocation by giving Award of Honor to 7 professors of the college who completed their Phd. Among them were Dr. Kiranjeet (History), Dr. Manu Sood (Physical Education), Dr. Ashok Kumar (Punjabi), Dr. Rakesh Sharma (History), Dr. Anoop Kumar (English), Dr. Sanjay Sharma (Biotech) and Dr. Sumiti Kalia (Biotech).
On this occasion, Vice Principal Prof. P.K. Kapur and Prof. P.K. Sharma, Dr. C. L. Arora (former Principal DAV College Jalandhar), Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal (Chairman, Local College Managing Committee), Mr. Surinder Mahe, Mr. O P Mahajan, Mr. Arvind Ghai (members of Local College Managing Committee), Prof. S.K. Tuli were also present. Stage was conducted by Prof. Sharad Manocha.
