Plant Cultivation program was celebrated by Department of Botany, DAV College, Jalandhar on February 5, 2013 with great fervor under the aegis of Kashyap Biological Society. Head of Botany Department Dr. Komal Arora faculty members and students participated in celebration. The principal Dr. B.B. Sharma was the guest on the ocassion. He planted an Ashoka Tree in Botanical Garden. He encouraged students to plant more trees and take care of their plantations thereafter. He said that every day should be treated as Van Mahotsav and plants should be grown to keep the environment green, clean, safe and healthy.
Others who planted trees included Dr. Komal Arora, Ms. Rajwinder Kaur, Ms. Rosy Mittu and Ms. Kanika Dua, members, staff of Department of botany and Students of various departments.
On this occasion, Dr. B.B. Sharma, Principal DAV College, said that during this month of February, our college has a plan to beautify the campus through tree plantation and rare cactus cultivation. He stressed that college students must be connected with sapling plantation and awareness programmes which are key factors to encourage citizens to protect environment by planting trees.
