Jalandhar:The department of biotechnology of DAV College, Jalandhar organized a DBT, UGC sponsored National Conference on Medical Biotechnology on 2 Feb 2013. Principal Dr B.B Sharma expressed his best wishes in his introductory remarks. Dr Dwaipayan Bhardwaj (Senior Scientist), Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi gave the key note address, and imparted knowledge about his research topic “Genetics of Complex Diseases”. Dr M Elizabeth Sobhia (Dept of Pharmacoiformatics), NIPER, Mohali, held the initial part of the first Technical Session, while the second part was concluded by Dr Sharada Potulochi from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, J&K. The experts shared their valuable wisdom on various topics concerning advancements in the field of biotechnology. Dr PVKS Bawa from Jammu University also enhanced the knowledge of students in the second Technical Session. Convener Dr Renuka Malhotra gave a formal vote of thanks and congratulated the authorities and students on the success of the conference. Dr. Sanjay, Dr Sumiti Kalia, prof Mandeep Kaur, Prof Pushpdeep Kaur and Prof Rohit Rai from the department were also present.
