We really feel proud that DAV College, Jalandhar has been holding the centre stage of the Indian Sports for the last six decades. The distinctions won by our sportsmen are not limited to University level alone but they have also put the stamp of excellence on the sports history of the country and even the world. Eight of our sportsmen have won the prestigious Arjuna Awards. The college has produced as many as 17 Olympians and more then 100 Players who have represented India in the International arena of sports.

It is an established fact that, DAV College, Jalandhar is famous as the nursery of the finest sportsmen. The college has to its credit a great number of top ranking sportsmen of the country, who have not only won enviable distinctions in National Sports but also proved their mettle in the Inter-national Sports arena. No other institution in the state can be compared with this college in this respect.

Annual Sports and Athletic Meet
60th Annual Sprts and Athletic Meet of the College was organized on 21st Febuary 2009. PadamShree Pargat Singh, Director Sports, Punjab Olymic Games - inaugurated the meet at Bakshi Jaisi Ram playgrouns of our college. Sh.G.S.Channi, Chairman District Planning Board, Jalandhar presided over the Prize Distribution function in the evening Sh. Rajesh Kapoor, a leading businessman of Jalandhar and Prof.Harman Singh, a distinguished alumini of the college, and currently settled in Canada, were the guests of honour in the evening session. My congratulations to Prof.Manu Sood, Head of the Deptt.of Physical Education and his colleagues and players who won laurels for the institution.
