3RD WORKSHOP ON PERSONAL BRANDING, GD & PI

The Training and Placement cell organised a one-day workshop on GROUP DISCUSSIONS, PERSONAL BRANDING and PERSONAL INTERVIEWS. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Manav Aggarwal (Dean, training and placement cell).

The occasion was graced with the presence of our worthy Principal Dr. S. K. Arora, Dr Nischay Behl (Dean, research), Dr S. K. Tuli (coordinator, IQAC), Dr Sanjeev Dhawan (Dean, Academics),  Prof Manav Aggarwal (Dean, training and placement cell),  Prof. Sameer and Prof. Aneesha.

The event commenced with the blessings of Principal Dr S. K. Arora. He encouraged the students to grab every opportunity that comes their way.

Dr Nischay Behl, told the students about the importance of personal branding in the real life scenario. The efforts of our Dean was thoroughly acknowledged and appreciated by him.

The guest speaker for the workshop was Dr Prashant Sharma. Dr Sharma is working as an assistant professor (finance and analyst) with Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur. He is a keen researcher, experienced trainer and dedicated teacher holding an experience of more than 8 years in his field. He was accompanied by Mr Rishi from the institution.

The proceedings begun from Personal Branding where Dr Sharma put light on the importance of BRANDING YOURSELF. He highlighted the key points for the students to keep in mind while preparing themselves for the upcoming challenges in their corporate path. Under this section, he discussed about Resumes, Cover letters, Elevator Pitch, Networking, dress code and some more significant topics.

Personal Branding was followed by Group Discussions. The students got to learn about the etiquette's of GD and the expectations of an evaluator from them as a potential candidate. Mock GD's were conducted where every student participated. The topic were as under:

1. Recession and it's impact on Indian economy

2. Women are better managers

3. Electric vehicles

4. Special sessions conducted in colleges on a day-off

For Personal Interviews, the trainer emphasized on the different techniques that an evaluator follows to manipulate a candidate's mind and how to resolve such situations. He pointed out the silly mistakes that a candidate makes in a HR round. The session ended with mock interviews with a few students who took part in the workshop.

Not only did Dr Sharma guided the students with his tips, but he also persuaded the students to ask more questions and engaged them with his methods of learning.

Overall the students found the session very knowledgeable. The day was concluded with the announcement of 4 winners from the whole seminar.
